External Cord Concealment (no wall opening required)

This technique for hiding cords is called external cord concealment and it’s a paintable plastic conduit that runs from the middle of the TV to its nearest power outlet. It also conceals low voltage cables, such as HDMI cords, ethernet cords, or audio cables. Please note that this will require a Christmas-tree-looking power extension cord since TV power cords are usually too short. Minimum cable length will be 12′.

Here, we also have a 12-foot power extension cord and a coaxial cable going all the way to the TV. We also use velcro to hide the cable box behind the TV for a better experience.

Internal Cord Concealment (Drywall)

With this option, we will open two holes, one behind the TV and the second one at the bottom where your bottom wall plates are. This cord concealment usually doesn’t require any wall patching as these will be covered with neat looking wall plates.

How we hide the cords inside the wall

First, we will install the wall mount. Then, we will create a hidden power outlet (blue circle) that will be located behind the tv. Now for the tricky parts – creating holes for all of those wires and cables and making sure you cover all of them up with a decorative, circular wall plate (blue circle).
